- Born in 1980
- Raised in Delavan, Wisconsin by his single father
- In middle school Tim played saxophone for a few months. She shrieking
sounds irritated his
father's fiance and it was returned to the rental company. To date,
brief saxaphone lessons have been Tim's only formal musical education.
- Tim was a varsity wrestler as a freshman in high school. He weighed
in at a whopping 103lbs and won several conference championships.
- 1994 Tim began creating computer games and making short films with
his best friend TW Hansen. The two began to operate under the name
"Explosition Software"
- 1995 Tim began building personal computers and writing HTML.
- 1998 Explosition Software became incorporated as Explosition Media.
Tim was the 100% shareholder. He opened a custom computer store with
several employees.
- 1999 Tim earned a Wisconsin Realtor's license.
- 2001 Tim's closed his business down after building over 800 PCs
and 70 web sites. Before turning 21, Tim had gone bankrupt.
- Tim went to school at the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse. He
worked tech support for the
University, cleaned toilets during the graveyard shift at a local
supermarket, and repaired electronics for Best Buy to pay for college.
- Later in 2001 Tim saw Duncan Sheik in concert at the Fineline in
Minneapolis, MN. Duncan autographed and acoustic guitar that had been
collecting dust in Tim's room. The next day, Tim decided to seriously
start teaching himself to play. Tim began by learning to play and
sing all of Mr. Sheik's released material.
- 2002 Tim saw John Mayer in concert at the House of Blues in Chicago.
Mr. Mayer autographed Tim's electric guitar. Still nothing more than
a casual musician, Tim learned to play (often watered down) versions
of many John Mayer songs.
- 2003 After earning a business degree, Tim and his co-worker Jeremy
sold everything that didn't fit into their cars. The two were joined
by TW Hansen on a cross-country jaunt. The trio
arrived in San Francisco, CA. They lived in their cars behind an abandoned
building for a week or so while looking for jobs and an apartment.
- The two landed well-paying jobs in for a technology consulting firm.
After saving enough money to live for a while, Tim left the firm.
- Tim started www.NorCalTV.com. His multimedia site afforded him the
opportunity to film concerts by artists like Wesla Whitfield, Kiff
Gallagher, and Josh Fix. Videography also introduced Tim to Syracuse
New York's Joel Ackerson.
- Tim let go of his video gear, car, and girlfriend to travel around
the country as Joel's
manager.
Tim designed Joel's CD cover art, web site, and helped book an extensive
summer tour. With Joel's encouragement, Tim also began writing original
material.
- During the Spring of 2004 David Peters (a Malibu based producer)
invited Tim to record a demo. The two got together with Michael Valerio,
Jimmy Paxson Jr, and Blake Mills to record 'The NonPop EP'. The four-song
demo contained the only four songs Tim had written at that time.
- While on tour with the Joel Ackerson Band, Tim was given opening
slots at many of the shows. His first performance was to a hearty
hometown crowd. His second was for college friends in La Crosse, WI.
Tim got hooked traveling in an RV and experiencing music every night.
- One of Tim's roommates became a porn star.
- Summer/Fall 2004 Tim and Amber Rubarth toured together in her Honda
Civic for a month and building their skills as performing songwriters.
Tim also connected with Brett Hobin (bass player in the Joel Ackerson
Band). The two toured began touring as a duo.
- Winter 2005 Tim record 4 more tracks with David Peters in Malibu,
CA, 2 tracks with The Animators in New York City, 2 tracks in Syracuse,
NY with his current band (Brett, Corey, Rob), and Tim recorded the
other two tracks at his home studio in San Francisco. The tracks were
put together on his album "Better Than Truth - Limited Edition".
- Tim spent the rest of 2005 touring around the US in his RV with
Brett Hobin and Amber Rubarth.
- Fall 2005 Temporarily living in Reno, NV, Tim started Intellective
Records and began releasing compilations with the most impressive
unsigned artists he'd encountered on previous tours
- November 2005 Tim relocated to Syracuse, NY to focus on college
touring with the full band
- December 2005 Tim flew to London and to play shows with David Peters
who had relocated
- NACA (college buying organization) rejected Timothy Daniel for the
showcase. With no winter/spring college tour, Corey and Rob pursue
other career options. Tim and Brett refocus on booking and performing
as a duo.
- Winter 2006 Tim wrote and recorded new material for a 6-song disc
called "The Desert Island EP". He engineered, produced,
and mixed all of the CDs on his laptop in Syracuse, NY. The limited
release sold out within three weeks.
